Young Talent of the Year

Wanda Martin

Photographer

Wanda Martin is a London–Budapest-based photographer, Canon Ambassador and Creative Director of FOXES Magazine. Her visual language is shaped by painterly aesthetics, Pre-Raphaelite colour palettes and the freedom of rock’n’roll subcultures.

Her work often brings romantic beauty into collision with underground energy, creating distinctive, cinematic atmospheres. She holds an MA in Photography from London College of Fashion and previously studied at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design and Eötvös Loránd University. Her work has been published in leading international magazines including Vogue, Dazed, i-D, Numéro, Glamour, Marie Claire and InStyle China. As a fashion and advertising photographer, she has collaborated with brands such as Dior, Burberry, Marc Jacobs, Diesel and Miu Miu. She is also a significant figure in the music world, having photographed artists including Aurora, Zara Larsson, Tom Walker, The Horrors, Eagles of Death Metal, Idles and Billy Idol, whom she photographed in Los Angeles at the iconic Chateau Marmont. She received the Junior Prima Award in 2017 and the Fashion Photographer of the Year Award in 2024. She regularly leads workshops and lectures on visual storytelling, portrait photography and the relationship between photography and painterly inspiration. Her most recent book and exhibition, The Ballad of Eternal Youth, is a generational dialogue with her father, Gábor Martin: his photographs of Hungarian youth from the 1970s and her London portraits from the 2010s jointly explore themes of freedom, rebellion and identity.
