Judit Osvárt

Judit Osvárt has been an active presence on the Hungarian design scene for many years, consistently committed to promoting high-quality visual culture and supporting emerging talents throughout her career.
Judit Osvárt graduated in Italian studies from Eötvös Loránd University. She began her career in the advertising sector, before quickly becoming a key figure in lifestyle and design journalism. She has gained extensive editorial and journalistic experience at numerous Hungarian and international magazines, and in 2006 she founded the Hungarian edition of ELLE Decoration as its first Editor-in-Chief. She later continued her professional journey as Regional Editor-in-Chief of H.O.M.E. and Flair magazines. Between 2013 and 2021, she served as Curator and Project Director of Budapest Design Week, where her work made a significant contribution to the development of Hungary’s creative industries. She was a member of the Hungarian Design Council from 2015 to 2024, and since 2020 has served as the Hungarian Ambassador of the Swiss Michelangelo Foundation – in both roles focusing on the support of young creators and small businesses. Since 2016, she has led the family branding studio Studio Barath, working on branding and strategic projects across design, gastronomy, and real estate. She was also behind the 2021 relaunch of ELLE Decoration; she currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of the magazine and works as a consultant on both Hungarian and international design initiatives.
