FASHION DESIGN OF THE YEAR
The Kata Szegedi FW26/27 collection continues the brand’s signature cuts and the cut-out “ROADS” motif, recurring each season. Inspired by Budapest, the pieces emphasize strong silhouettes and formal continuity across collections.
KATA SZEGEDI is a Budapest-based brand founded by Kata Szegedi and Dániel Benus, built on a long-standing creative partnership. The designer duo focuses on creating passionate, statement pieces described as objects of desire. Their iconic cut-out silhouettes, known as “ROADS”, return each season, inspired by the urban landscape of Budapest. This collection reinterprets earlier designs, exploring their movement and behavior through new textures and color combinations. The result is a collage-like aesthetic adaptable to both day and night wear. Cut-out surfaces and architectural silhouettes are combined with streetwear staples such as hoodies and bomber jackets, creating a fresh, versatile mix. Faux fur and heavy wool form modular, hand-sewn ROADS elements, redefining the brand’s signature codes.
The collection is inspired by contemporary street culture, music and emerging artistic voices, resulting in garments that function as moving sculptures.
