COLLABORATION OF THE YEAR

Reimagined Tradition - Vase Series

Hollóházi Porcelánmanufaktúra X Szmrecsányi Bolda

In collaboration with Hollóházi Porcelain Manufactory, Bolda Szmrecsányi created contemporary reinterpretations of three classic vases. The nearly 250-year-old workshop’s traditional porcelain techniques are complemented by hand-painted organic patterns from the contemporary painter.

The nearly two-and-a-half-century tradition of Hollóházi Porcelán meets Bolda Szmrecsányi’s contemporary painting in the reinterpretation of three classic vases. The hand-painted, organic surfaces create a dialogue between tradition and autonomous art, giving a new narrative to Hungarian porcelain. Hollóházi Porcelán, founded in 1777, is a historic Hungarian manufactory renowned for craftsmanship and enduring quality. Its traditional techniques are combined with contemporary design, producing pieces that embody elegance, quality, and the authentic spirit of Hungarian applied arts.
