About the Hungarian Creative Council

The Hungarian Creative Council is an important professional advisory board for the strategic development of Hungary’s creative industries. It was established in 2025, assuming the responsibilities of the former Hungarian Design Council, with an expanded mandate and a new name.

The Council’s mission is to enhance the competitiveness and domestic and international visibility of the creative sectors—including fashion, design, the beauty industry, and game design—while strengthening cooperation among public, economic, and professional stakeholders. 

The establishment of the Council is closely linked to the transformation of Creative Hungary (formerly the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency), which has been operating under the name Creative Hungary since December 2025 with an expanded scope of competencies, including the beauty industry and game design.

The work of the board is carried out by a six-member body. Its activities focus on preparing strategic decisions, developing professional guidelines, and supporting complex projects. Among its members are recognized professionals; the position of president is held by Zsófia Jakab, CEO of Creative Hungary, while the council’s work is supported by Patrícia Amfer as vice president.

The Council’s professional activities are built on four core pillars: public regulation and infrastructure; education and innovation; market development and competitiveness; and cultural and economic impact. These objectives are implemented through working groups, and dedicated projects. The operations of the board are coordinated by its Office, which, in addition to administrative, professional, and communication tasks, also ensures the preparation and monitoring of projects. 

Through regular council meetings, and international collaborations, the Council aims to further strengthen its role as a key background institution of the Hungarian creative industries.

The winners of the Central European Creative Awards are selected by the HCC, with the professional evaluation of submissions and the preparation of decisions carried out with the involvement of recognized domestic and international industry experts.
